Lineworker Training Academy
What is the Lineworker Academy: Have you ever wondered how the power grid provides energy to our communities, and what happens when it goes down and needs repair? These are vital services for people everywhere – it literally powers our lives! During this camp, students will learn what it is like to climb power poles, use various tools that a lineworker uses on a daily basis, learn the gear and clothes that are required in this field, fly a drone simulator, and visit lineworkers in action! Students will learn the ins and outs of the electric utility industry and how power gets to our homes and businesses.
*Hard hats and safety glasses will be provided. A pair of sturdy work boots with a heel along with gloves and a long sleeve shirt for climbing are required.
